Jesus said in John 6:63, “…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”  Isn’t that what everyone wants…life?  …to have “life” in the living we are doing this day.

Michael gives us specific direction in how to have that “life.”

DAY 116

“Go and Tell No One”

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. –Hebrews 1:1, 2

Have you ever noticed that often after Jesus performed a miracle, He did not want the beneficiary to tell anyone? Why? He simply did not want to attract a following among those that are merely drawn by miracles. He was interested in those that would be attracted to God. Today there are many who want to appeal to the crowds by miracles, such as the miracle of the one-time fix. Jesus is still looking for those that will come to Him in faith and love Him, not for a miracle but because of who He is. It should be noted that when God gave dominion over the earth to man, in many ways He tied His own hands. He must now work through man. In the Old Testament, “God spoke long ago through the Fathers and the Prophets.” Today, He is speaking “in Son.” We must in these times hear the Son and not seek after the miracles.

To me, one of the most profound statements Michael ever made was this: “God is not in the work of creating hearts for Him today, but rather in the work of revealing hearts that are for Him.”  Those that have hearts for God are ones with hearts that crave to hear what the Son has to say.

This all begs the question: why would any man or woman want to seek after miracles instead of seeking to hear the Son?  Yet this has been the heart of many even back in Jesus’ day.

I use the term “Life Verses” to designate certain ones that really bring “life” to my life.  I encourage collecting these “Life Verses” as a resource to constantly draw upon when different events or people come into our life that the verses speak “life” to.

The bottom line for the great peace Jesus spoke of, the wonderful provision Jesus spoke of, the life more abundantly Jesus spoke of…is Michael’s words: “We must in these times hear the Son…”
